Parking in Excelsior, again

If there is a chronic city issue in Excelsior, it is the discussion of parking. According to the Lakeshore Weekly News, the issue has been on Council agendas again, in November, December, and January.

The two big questions as of late have pertained to the proposed hotel at the Pizza Hut building, and what parking requirements exist for a hotel/restaurant (note that the ordinance was amended to require one space per four seats at the restaurant.) Discussion also exists around what the parking requirements should be for a Library.

Thoughts? Do readers have any new and different points of view on the Excelsior downtown parking topic? Is parking a problem?
